Frequently asked questions

Everything people usually ask before buying temporary cover. If your question isn't here, get in touch and we'll answer it.

How long can I be covered for?

From 1 hour up to 84 days. You pick the exact start time and duration during the quote, and cover ends automatically when the period runs out.

Does it affect the car owner's no-claims bonus?

No. Your temporary policy sits alongside the owner's annual cover, so a claim on your policy does not touch their no-claims discount.

What level of cover do I get?

Comprehensive cover for the vehicle you name, including third-party liability, fire and theft, subject to the policy terms and excess shown before you buy.

Can learner drivers get cover?

Yes. Choose a provisional licence during the quote and select 'Learner in Borrowed Car' as the reason. You must be supervised in line with UK learner rules.

Which vehicles can I insure?

Most standard UK cars and small vans. Very high-value, heavily modified or commercial-use vehicles may fall outside our criteria — the quote will tell you.

When does my cover start?

At the start time you choose. That can be immediate or scheduled for a later date, up to 30 days ahead.

How do I get my documents?

By email, along with your policy reference, as soon as payment is confirmed. Cover is recorded so you have proof of insurance for the period you bought.

Can I cancel or change a policy?

Contact us before cover starts and we will change or cancel it for you. Once a short-term policy is live it cannot usually be refunded.
